Craftbeer Tourism in Japan - Rodeo Dog Beer Stand, Odawara, Kanagawa
Rodeo Dog Beer Stand (Cowboy Craft) Odawara, located in western Kanagawa Prefecture. From Odawara Station, served by JR and Odakyu lines, you can see Odawara Castle, which was once a base for the Hojo clan, and you can still feel the historical atmosphere throughout the city.
Around Odawara Station, apart from the station building and Don Quijote, there are no large stores nearby. However, about a 15-minute drive away, there are large shopping malls like Dyna City and Frespo Odawara, which may be the commercial centers for locals. As a result, the area around the station has a somewhat cozy atmosphere, but in the evenings, it becomes lively with what appear to be tourists.
From the east rotary of Odawara Station, it's about a 4-5 minute walk along the restaurant street along the Tokaido Line toward Yokohama, then turn right at the underpass road, and you'll see a long, narrow building on your right. This is the 1st floor of Cowboy Craft Brewing's Tap room, Rodeo Dog Beer Stand.

Rodeo Dog Beer Stand (Cowboy Craft Brewing)
Address: 2-5-18 Sakae-cho, Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture
As soon as you enter, there's a refrigerator lined with craft beers, and further in, there's a beer server where a staff member was casually sitting. In that sense, the tap is in an exposed state. On the opposite side, there's a counter facing a large window and table seats in the back. Although it's not particularly spacious, the cowboy hats and buffalo horn decorations scattered around evoke the feeling of an American movie, befitting the name "Cowboy Craft."

I took a seat on one of the bench seats next to the table seats in the back, with a staff member's high chair and menu board in front of me, allowing me to leisurely peruse the menu. Looking at the lineup that day, I noticed craft beers from nearby breweries like Humans Beer in Manazuru and Pacific Brewing in Chigasaki, giving me a strong sense of connection to the local Kanagawa area.

On that day, I ordered Cowboy Craft Brewing's original Sunnyvale Cowboy.

And Le Petite Prince (The Little Prince) from Jester King Brewery in Texas, USA.

It was Saturday when I visited. Although the website said they opened at 5 pm, around 5:20 pm when I arrived, the seats were about 70% occupied. After that, regular customers kept coming in one after another. Just before leaving, a foreign father and child who seemed to be local residents arrived, with the father enjoying a beer while the child played a
smartphone game next to him. I imagined they might have had a conversation like, "Since we played together today, you'll have to keep me company on the way home," and I felt a sense of an extension of everyday life.
