Craft Beer Tourism in Japan- TOYS BREWERY, Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture
About an hour from Nagoya Station by either JR or Meitetsu (Nagoya Railroad), Toyohashi Station is a hub that’s also served by the Kodama and Hikari Shinkansen lines. With a population of just under 400,000, the city of Toyohashi sits roughly halfway between Tokyo and Osaka. A 10-minute walk from Toyohashi Station will bring you to TOYS BREWERY.
TOYS BREWERY
Address: 2-71 Ekimae Oodori, Toyohashi-shi, Aichi
From the east exit of Toyohashi Station, head to your right along Ekimae Oodori, a main street that runs alongside the streetcar tracks. After a short walk, you’ll see two large and fairly new buildings on your right. These buildings are part of a development called emCAMPUS, which includes a library, a branch of city offices, and various commercial and office spaces.
Coming from the station, there’s a well-maintained plaza-like passage between the two buildings. Take a right into that passage, which leads to a street. At the end of this short path, you’ll find a building with a row of small shops styled like a traditional shopping arcade. TOYS BREWERY is located at the far-left end when approaching from the emCAMPUS side. The walk from the station takes about 7 to 8 minutes.

Facing the shop, you’ll see brewing equipment behind a glass wall on the right-hand side, next to the entrance. The interior is compact, with only a small stand-up counter that fits about 5 or 6 people. However, as shown in the photos, there are also tables and counters set up outside, suggesting that the area likely becomes lively in the evening. The nostalgic feel of the old-fashioned shopping street complements this vibrant atmosphere well.

Inside the shop, the menu is written on a chalkboard. On this visit, I ordered an American Belgot for the first round, followed by a Session American Wheat for the second. The brewery operates on a cash-on-delivery system, so you pay for each drink as you order.

Craft Beer Tourism Rooted in Toyohashi: TOYS BREWERY
Although I didn’t get a chance to visit this time, there’s another brewery in Toyohashi called Fhttps://fivevisionbrewery.wixsite.com/websiteIVE VISION BREWERY, located on the opposite side of the station. It’s a bit of a walk—over 20 minutes—so taking public transportation is recommended. From what I gathered on their website, they operate as a production-only brewery, meaning they don't have a taproom for visitors. However, they do share locations where their beers are sold via their website and Instagram. If you're interested in trying their brews, those are great resources to check out.
